Anthony Verrelli is a career public servant. He started out as a Journeyman Carpenter, and over the years climbed through the ranks of union leadership, going on to become an organizer, business agent, funds administrator, and local president. He has served at many levels of local government, including on the Ewing Planning Board, Mercer County Planning Board, Mercer County Improvement Authority, and Mercer County Freeholder Board, and today he is the New Jersey Assemblyman for the 15th district. Anthony currently serves as the Executive Director of the Mercer County Improvement Authority, where they spearhead providing efficient government services to the public, while also providing economic development to the county.
Anthony is the Assemblyman from the NJ 15th Legislative District. He serves parts of Mercer County (Hopewell Valley, Trenton, Ewing, West Windsor, and Lawrence) and Hunterdon County (Delaware Twp, East Amwell Twp, Frenchtown, Kingwood, Lambertville, Stockton, and West Amwell).
Anthony prioritizes legislation that supports workers’ rights, services for those struggling with mental health and drug addiction, and measures to decrease the recidivism rate. On a broader scale, Anthony advocates for affordability issues that he knows are critical to the middle class, such as healthcare, energy savings, and expanding housing, to make sure everyone can afford a place to live.
Anthony has a proven track record of delivering tangible benefits to people. Whether in union leadership or as an elected official, Anthony’s work directly benefits people and improves their lives, rather than producing abstract legislation that never reaches people where they are.
Anthony has a broad base of support from progressive advocacy groups, public and private unions, environmental groups and social justice organizations.
