Gender Equality

I strongly support creating opportunities for all people in our society to succeed in the workforce as well as ensuring that there is equal pay for equal work.

Furthermore, cases of sexual assault must be taken very seriously, and sexual violence must never be tolerated in the workplace. It is my strong belief that a woman’s freedom to make her own decisions about her body plays a foundational role in her safety, well-being, economic opportunity, and her independence as a member of society. I am proud to have co-sponsored legislation supporting reproductive freedom, access to abortion, and contraceptive services. Maternal health should also be a priority for the safety of all women, children, and families as a whole, and I have sponsored legislation increasing funding for maternal mental health services.
