Gun Safety
Senseless acts of gun violence have unfortunately become way too common in our community, in our schools, and in our places of worship.
I strongly support common sense gun safety measures including background checks, closing loopholes, and preventing illegal gun trafficking across state lines. It is crucially important that our schools continue to be safe places for our children to receive a quality education without having to worrying about the possibility that a real tragedy could happen at any moment of the school day. I have cosponsored legislation in the New Jersey General Assembly requiring upgraded security infrastructure in schools that will allow for faster and more efficient communication with public safety officials in the case of an emergency situation. We must also make sure our state laws keep up with advancements in technology that expose new safety concerns, and I was proud to vote in favor of legislation banning untraceable firearms in New Jersey, also known as “ghost guns.”
